BRIEFS
The Fairview Board of School Directors
held its regular public meeting on
January 24, 2005, and took action on the
following matters:
·
Accepted the minutes of the board meeting of
December 13, 2004
·
Approved the budgetary transfers, bills payable,
and payroll through January 21, 2005
·
Approved the Treasurer’s Report for December,
2004
·
Read correspondence from David Wallwork, Jerry
Lightner, Jerry Biebel, Karen Pernice, and Dennis Huzinec
·
Approved to grant the Fairview Advantage Charter
School’s request for a 45 day extension for the public
hearing to be scheduled on or before 3/29/05
·
Presented the following policies for first
reading – to be posted in all buildings:
Policy 815.2
– Internet Safety & Use
Policy 903 –
Public Participation at Board Meetings
·
Approved the Spanish and biology field trip to
Costa Rica during the summer of 2005 at a cost of $150 for
teacher educational resources and that all district field trip
policy requirements are met prior to the trip
·
Approved to change in classification French V
and VI from the Honors Level to an Advanced Placement Level
course retroactive to the start of the 2004/2005 school year
·
Approved the 2005/2006 school district calendar
·
Approved that the compensation for the real
estate tax collector remain the same at $3.50 per parcel for
the calendar year 2006 through 2009
·
Approved to amend the 2004/2005 budget to
include Workforce Investment Act grant revenue of $10,000 and
expenditures of $10,000
·
Approved facility use requests for a summer
boys’ basketball camp and the West County Kiwanis Club’s
27th Annual Fairview Invitational Track Meet on
4/2/05
·
Awarded the bids for the contract for roof
repairs at the high school and middle school to
Weatherproofing Technologies, Inc. for $3,600 for the high
school and $3,520 for the middle school
·
Approved the spring 2005 schedule from the
Fairview Parks & Recreation Authority
·
Approved the Act 93 Agreement with district
administrators as follows:
that the Hospitalization Coverage available upon
retirement, as provided in Item 6 on page 4 of the Act 93
Agreement, shall include both the employee and dependent
coverage as provided in Article IV.F.2.A paragraphs 1 and 2 as
found on page 9 of the Master Teachers’ Contract for any
administrator who has worked ten years in the Fairview School
District as an administrator and 25 years in PSERS
·
Approved the personnel matters listed in the
Board Attachment Book at the Central Administration Building.
Also included in the Attachment Book are the list of
commendables as well as board remarks and president’s
remarks.
