BOARD BRIEFS

The Fairview Board of School Directors held its regular public meeting on February 23, 2004,  and took action on the following matters:

·        Accepted the minutes of the January 26, 2004, public board meeting

·        Approved the budgetary transfers

·        Approved the bills payable and payroll through February 19, 2004

·        Approved the Treasurer’s Report for January, 2004

·        Approved the 2004/2005 Intermediate Unit #5 Budget with Fairview’s contribution as follows: Instructional Media Center $28,849.74, Educational Services, $7,564.60 and the General Operating Budget of $407,107

·        Appointed Kyle Strayer as board representative to the Fairview Parks & Recreation Authority to fill the vacancy left by Farren Peightal, which expires December 31, 2004

·        Awarded the fall athletic supplies bids

·        Authorized the administration to hire armed security guards for the 2004/2005 school year at $19 per hour and additional unarmed security guards at $10-$12 as needed

·        Approved change order P-8, which is an add on of $3,448 on the contract for the additions and alterations at the high school with Scobell Co., Inc. to furnish all labor and material necessary to replace and repipe two existing mixing valves in the shower rooms

·        Approved the spring schedule for the Fairview Parks & Recreation Authority

·        Approved the personnel matters as listed in the Board Attachment Book
