BRIEFS
The Fairview Board of School Directors held
its regular public meeting on February 27, 2006, and took action
on the following matters:

Accepted the minutes of January 23, 2006, and
February 13, 2006
·
Approved the budgetary transfers
·
Approved the Treasurer’s Report for January,
2006
·
Approved the bills payable and payroll through
February 24, 2006
·
Accepted correspondence from Carrie Mummert and
Katelyn Clark
·
Approved the Resolution for the Real Estate
Purchase Agreement between the County of Erie and the various
school districts participating in the operation of the Erie
County Vocational-Technical School
·
Approved the drilling of a second test well on
Fairview School District property by the Fairview Township Sewer
& Water Authority
·
Approved the job descriptions for the positions of
Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment, and the
Director of Student Support Services
·
Approved the standardized testing change for the
2006/2007 school year
·
Approved the purchase of leveled books for
Kindergarten, first and second grade teachers and students from
the Pearson Learning Group for 720 books at $2,900 to be paid
from Title I funds
·
Approved the Your Employability Skills (YES) high
school curriculum
·
Approved Policy 116 – Tutorial Instruction,
Policy 105.2 – Exemption from Instruction, Policy 118 –
Independent Study, Policy 117 – Home-Bound Instruction, and
Administration Procedure AP 137.1 – In-home Instruction
·
Approved the I.U. #5 Budget for 2006/2007
·
Approved the sale of a 1990 used station wagon to
Mathies & Sons for $100 and the used 1986 bus to same for
$600
·
Approved facility use requests for:
West Erie County Kiwanis Club, Family First Sports Park,
Erie Saints Basketball, Erie Youth Soccer Association, Edinboro
Youth Wrestling Club, Girls’ Softball Association of Fairview,
and the “People to People” ambassador organization
·
Approved the job description for the position of
Central Administration Building Secretary
·
Approved the high school volleyball program to
participate in a fourth tournament
·
Approved the list of personnel matters as well as
the substitute lists
