BOARD BRIEFS

The Fairview Board of School Directors held its regular public meeting on

March 14, 2005, and took action on the following matters:

·        Accepted the minutes of the February 28, 2005, public board meeting

·        Approved the budgetary transfers, bills payable and payroll through  3/11/05

·        Approved the treasurer’s report for February, 2005

·        Read correspondence from the Fairview Advantage Charter School rescinding their original application

·        Approved the petition for Erie County lien free tax sale to be conducted by the Quinn Law Firm

·        Approved the Erie County Vo-Tech Budget for the 2005/2006 school year with costs to the Fairview School District of $166,138

·        Approved the substitute teachers’ salary rate at $75 per day for the 2005/2006 school year

·        Approved Policy 210 – Use of Medications, Policy 903 – Public Participation at Board Meetings, and Policy 237 – Electronic Devices

·        Approved facility use requests from: the Erie Saints Basketball Team, the YMCA of Greater Erie, the American Cancer Society, the Edinboro Youth Wrestling Club, and the Girls’ Softball Association of Fairview

·        Approved the personnel matters listed in the Board Attachment Book at the Central Administration Building.  The list of commendables  as well as the board remarks and president’s remarks are also in the Attachment Book.
