BOARD
BRIEFS
The
Fairview Board of School Directors held its regular public
board meeting on October 24, 2005, and took action on the
following matters:
·
Accepted the minutes of the public board meetings held
on 9/26/05 and 10/10/05
·
Approved the budgetary transfers as contained in the
board packets
·
Approved the bills payable and payroll through October
21, 2005
·
Approved the treasurer’s report for September , 2005
·
Read correspondence from: Melissa Eisenfelder, Carolyn Mummert, Sylvia Nicholes, and
Amy Vilushis
·
Recognized one visitor: Mr. Ed Grode re: commended
the board on the two new administrative hires and for our
elementary students being featured in the centerfold of
Geography Magazine.
·
Approved the administrative Goasl for 2005/2006
·
Approved the after-school Tiger Club job/program
description which will focus on reading skills to be funded by
Title I monies
·
Approved a Therapeutic Inclusion Coach to be
subcontracted from a local agency to work with our regular
education staff in dealing with classroom behavior concerns.
The projected cost is $25 per hour for four hours per
day for the balance of the 05/06 school year to be funded
through the contingency fund grant.
·
Approved Policies 203.1, 314.1 re: HIV; Policy 810 re:
Transportation, and AP 201.12 re: Residency/Non-residency
·
Approved ratifying the action of the superintendent,
taken in accordance with Policy 6112, to order additional
textbooks needed at Fairview Middle School to meet class size
demands and authorize the purchase of the textbooks listed on
the attachment at a total cost of $5,821.20, to be paid from
budgetary reserve
·
Approved to amend the 2005/06 budget to add revenues
and expenditures in the amount of $41,000 and further, to
approve the ACCESS Budget for 2005/06 in the amount of $66,000
as per the attached revised ACCESS budget
·
Approved the retainer agreement in the amount of
$34,000 for 2005/2006 for the Quinn Law Firm
·
Approved the job description for the position of
Alternative Communciation Instructor
·
Approved the job description for the position of Food
Service Coordinator
·
Approved the job description for the position of 4.5
hour cafeteria helper at FHS
·
Approved the facility use request for Cub Scout Pack
173 to use the high school cafeteria on March 3, 2006, from 5
p.m. until 9 p.m. to hold their annual Pinewood Derby with
rental and custodial fees waived
·
Approved to award the bid for the 1988 black van to
Denny’s Auto Wrecing in the amount of $35 as they were the
only bid
·
Approved to award the bid for the closed circuit
television system at Fairview Elementary to Wilkins Co. in the
amount of $7,524 to be paid from the Capital Projects Fund
·
Approved the attached Winter 2005/06 Schedule for the
Fairview Parks & Recreation Authority
·
Approved the facility request submitted by the Fairview
Music Boosters to hold the annual rummage and bake sale at FES
cafeteria on November 12, 2005, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and
to use the FES halls and cafeteria on November 9, 10,
and 11. fpr set up with rental fees waived, but custodial fee
to be paid for Saturday, November 12

Approved the personnel matters listed .

Board Attachment Book for public viewing at the Central
Administration Building
