Fairview School Board Briefs For October 25, 2004

BOARD BRIEFS

 

The Fairview Board of School Directors held its regular monthly public meeting on

October 25, 2004, and took action on the following matters:

 

·        Accepted the minutes of the public board meeting held on September 20, 2004

 

 

·        Approved the bills payable and payroll through October 25,  2004

 

·        Approved the treasurer’s report for September, 2004, as well as the Capital Reserve Report, the Cafeteria Report, the District Retirement Benefit Account, The Capital Projects Report and the high school and middle school activity accounts

 

·        Approved the revised kindergarten report card, which is aligned with the state standards

 

·        Amended the 2004/2005 budget to include the additional ACCESS revenues of $42,000 and the additional expenditures of $27,000 received from the ACCESS program and approved the expenditures of this money

 

·        Approved the facility request for the Motorcycle Safety Program

 

·        Approved the district to participate in the Bomb Dog Consortium for 2004/2005 at a cost of $300

 

·        Approved the winter schedule of the Fairview Parks & Recreation Authority

 

·        Approved the administration to purchase the concussion and impact testing software from Impact Testing at a cost of $1,300 and authorized the administration to apply for a grant from Safe Kids, which could cover $650 of this expense

 

·        Awarded the bid for carpeting at the Central Administration Building to Tom Baumann Carpetworld in the amount of $8,225 and at Fairview Elementary School to Greg Thomas Floor Expressions in the amount of $11,741.64

 

·        Appointed Bill Morosky as board representative to the Fairview Parks & Rec Authority from October 25, 2004, through December 31, 2008

 

·        Approved the Regional Choice Initiative resolution as set forth in the board packet

 

 

·        Approved the list of personnel matters, which can be viewed at the Central Administration Office from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.   The list of commendable items is in the C.A.B. also.

 

The test scores for 2003-2004 were presented at this meeting.

Wednesday,  December 1,  2004,  7:30 p.m. – FES – The annual Reorganization Meeting of the School Board at which they will set the dates and times for the meetings for 2005.
