BRIEFS
The Fairview Board of School Directors
held its regular public board meeting on November 21, 2005,
and took action on the following matters:
·
Accepted the minutes of the public board meeting
held on 10/24/05
·
Approved the budgetary transfer as contained in
the board packets
·
Approved the bills payable and payroll through
November 18, 2005
·
Approved the treasurer’s report for October,
2005
·
Read correspondence from grade 1 teacher, Terri
Costello
·
Recognized two visitors: Mr. Paul Bacik, who commended the board for their hard work
this past year and presented them with his annual “cashew
award” and Mrs. Mary Lou Zone, who commended the board for
giving their time and assets to the district and whose
stewardship has put the district in a very good position.

Approved the Capital Projects List as contained
in the packet
·
Approved the 2004/05 Audit as contained in the
packet
·
Approved the transfer of funds received from
Nationwide Insurance, $4,179.05, as settlement for the 1991
school bus that was taken out of service as a result of the
accident that occurred on November 3, 2005, to the Capital
Reserve Fund
·
Approved the field trip requests for Adopt an
Artist and Cholet
·
Approved the LERTA application for CONNEX, Inc.
ID No. 21-88-99-6.08, 7660 Klier Drive, to construct a 33,000
sq. ft. manufacturing and office facility and for Formtech, ID
No. 21-64-116-47, 7301 Klier Drive, to construct an 80,000 sq.
ft. warehouse/production and office facility

Approved Plancon J that summarizes the final
accounting of the middle school renovations
·
Approved the sabbatical request for Laurie
Strandwitz for a study sabbatical beginning January 23, 2006,
and ending June 9, 2006
·
Sanctioned the facility use request for Fairview
Athletic Boosters to use the FHS gym on December 2 and 3 for a
Tiger Tip-Off Tournament with rental fees waived, but
custodial fees to be paid for Saturday, December 3, 2005, and
board sanction for FHS Track & Field to use the high
school auxiliary gym and wrestling room for a high jumping
camp with rental fees waived, but custodial fees to be paid
·
Approved to accept the terms of the proposed
collective bargaining agreement with the Fairview Education
Association, for the term beginning September 1, 2006, through
June 30, 2011, as contained in the packets.
The terms of the proposed agreement have already been
ratified by the Association
·
Approved the personnel matters listed.

Board Attachment Book for public viewing at the Central
Administration Building
