BOARD BRIEFS

The Fairview Board of School Directors held its annual reorganization meeting on December 3, 2003, and took action on the following matters:

·        Elected Gary Eiben as President and Laura Symes as Vice President for 2004

·        Authorized a signature plate for the board president and a surety bond in the amount of $100,000

·        Approved the use of the current signature plate until the new plate is received

·         

·        Set the following dates and time for the public business meetings for 2004

Meeting time is 7:30 p.m. at Fairview Elementary School

·        Accepted the minutes of the November 24, 2003, public board meeting

·        Approved for Mrs. Dreistadt, Busted! Advisor, and two students to attend the National Leadership Forum XIV in Washington, D.C., in January, 2004

·        Appointed Richard Unkle to replace Sally Gearity for the remainder of her term as board representative to the I.U. #5 board until June 30, 2005

·        Approved change order P-5 for labor and material to perform the alternate routing for the drain and water piping in the ceiling below the lab area at the high school, which would result in a deduct of $3,l50 on the contract with Scobell Co., Inc.

·        Scheduled a special board meeting to pay bills and conduct general business on December 15, 2003, at FES.  A Committee of the Whole meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. to be followed by this special board meeting.
