BRIEFS
The Fairview Board of School Directors held
its regular monthly public meeting on
September 20, 2004, and took action on the
following matters:
·
Accepted the minutes of the public board meeting
held on August 16, 2004, and the minutes of the special public
board meeting held on September 13, 2004
·
·
Approved the bills payable and payroll through
September 17, 2004
·
Approved the treasurer’s report for August ,
2004, as well as the Capital Reserve Report, the Cafeteria
Report, the District Retirement Benefit Account, The Capital
Projects Report and the high school and middle school activity
accounts
·
Awarded the Food Court Bids to Eriez Construction
for the general construction for $92,000; the HVAC construction
to Scobell Co., Inc. for a total of $l5,231; the plumbing
construction to Scobell Co., Inc. for $l3,030; the electrical
construction to Keystone Electric (Doan Pyramid, LLC) for
$21,500 and for the food service equipment to Gateway Kitchen
Equipment and Supplies for a total contract of $67,l72.
The total awards amount to $208,933.

Awarded the purchase for the Point of Sale System
for the district cafeterias
to NUTRIkids for software in the amount of $l4,205 and to Expert
Computers, Inc. for hardware in the amount of $7,238 for a total
start-up cost of $21,443 with annual maintenance fees of $l,5l5
·
Approved the strategies developed by the
administrative team for 2004/2005 that support the nine Goals of
the Strategic Plan
·
Approved the administration to advertise and
solicit bids for carpeting for the Central Admin. Building and
the Fairview Elementary School and a security camera system for
the district
·
Approved the driver’s education agreement with
Girard School District for 2004/2005
·
Approved to change the
grade point requirement from 3.25 to 3.75 for a student
to be eligible for selection to the Fairview High School
National Honor Society beginning the 2005/2006 school year
·
Approved for the FHS to provide the proposed high
school bowling program during the 2004/2005 school year at no
cost to the district
·
Approved the English as a Second Language Contract
with the I.U. #5 for the 2004/2005 school year
·
Approved the Shared Substitute Calling agreement
with Girard for the 2004/2005 school year at a cost of $3,000
·
Approved the FES PTO to erect a sign in front of
the Fairview Elementary School at no cost to the district with
said sign being maintained by the PTO
·
·
Approved the list of personnel matters which can
be viewed at the Central Administration Office from 8 a.m. until
4 p.m.
