The Fairview Board of School
Directors held its regular public meeting on
March 24, 2003, and took action on the
following matters:
·
Approved the minutes of the public board meeting
on February 24, 2003
·
The treasurer’s report for February, 2003,
was approved
·
Bills payable and payroll for March, 2003, were approved
·
Approved to award the bid for heating and cooling
units (roof top
replacement) at the Central Admin. Bldg. to Scobell Co. in the
amount of $55,900
·
Designated the Fairview School District as a
hybrid entity under HIPAA.
The district is a member of the Northwestern Regional
Employee Benefit Trust (NOREBT) and NOREBT functions as the plan
administrator for medical and prescription insurances
·
Moved to extend the deadline for the district’s
early retirement incentive plan for professional employees to
April 4, 2003, at 4 p.m. This
is the plan which was board approved at the 2/24/03 public board
meeting.
·
Approved Policy 223 and AP 223 – Use of Motor
Vehicles and Parking
·
Approved Policy 803 – School Calendar
·
Presented the first reading of AP 209.1A –
Employee Minor Accident Documentation, Special Education
Policies 113.2 – Behavior Support Plan and 216.1 – Special
Education Student Records and HIPAA Policy – Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act
·
Approved an administrative internship for Andrea
Hoover Gunns at FHS
·
Approved to establish an escrow account (liability
account in the General Fund) for the purpose of tracking
non-resident EIT beginning July 1, 2003
·
Approved the list of personnel matters which can
be viewed at the Central Administration Office from 8 a.m. until
4 p.m.
·
Approved facility usage requests from Erie Youth
Soccer Association, Family First and the Fairview Parks &
Recreation Authority for a FINS program
·
Approved change orders on the GMS renovation
project resulting in two deducts of $l6,000 and $8,897 on the
contract with the Hudson Group and one for the
central admin. bldg. bathroom with a deduct of $l,722 on
the contract with Rezzelle Construction
·
Approved Administrative Procedure 123.13 –
Special Activity Contract
·
Approved for Bay Harbour Electric to run the 100
pair telephone cable to Garwood from the elementary school at a
cost of $5,850
