Fairview School Board Briefs For October 21, 2002

BOARD BRIEFS

 

The Fairview Board of School Directors held its regular public meeting on

October 21, 2002, and took action on the following matters:

 

·                    Approved the minutes of the September 23, 2002, meeting

 

·                    The treasurer’s report for  September, 2002, was approved

 

·                    Bills payable and payroll for October, 2002, were approved

 

·                    Approved the list of budgetary transfers for 2001/2002

 

·                    Approved for the three courtyard committees to proceed with phase 1 of their plans at no cost to the district

 

·                    Approved to employ the Industrial Appraisal Company to do the fixed asset appraisal of the district at a cost of $4,640

 

·                    Approved the second semester field trips and their rationale for 2002/03

 

·                    Approved the Sales Tax Advisor Services agreement the power-of-attorney document

 

·                    Approved the budget amendments per schedule 5.l and approved the spending plans per schedule 5.2

 

·                    Approved for the Fairview School District to transport Girard School District students to Our Lady of Peace School

 

·                    Awarded the pole vault bid to First to the Finish at a cost of $7,392.54

 

·                    Approved the change order on the science lab project at GMS which results in an add on Contract No. 7 of $l0,4l7 on the original contract with the C. M. Eichenlaub Company

 

·                    Approved the change order on the electrical project at GMS  which would result in a deduct of $3,550 on the original contract with Bay Harbour Electric

 

·                    Approved the change order on the plumbing project at GMS resulting in a deduct of $36,000 on the original contract with Shipley Plumbing, Inc.

 

·                    Approved the  Hanes Erie, Inc. LERTA for the construction of a 26,960 sq. ft. manufacturing addition

 

·                    Approved Policy 211 – Student Accident Insurance

 

·                    Approved the list of personnel matters and substitute addendums

Monday, October 28, 2002,  7 p.m., Committee of the Whole meeting at FES Academic Skills Room , to present the  test scores, drug and alcohol survey results, and review the high school block schedule

Monday,  November 11, 6:30 p.m., FES, Committee of the Whole Meeting followed by small committee meetings

Monday, November 25, 7:30 p.m., FES, public board meeting

Monday, December, 2, 7:30 p.m., FES, Reorganization of the Board
