BOARD BRIEFS
The Fairview Board of School Directors held a
special public board meeting on December 18, 2006, and took
action on the following matters:
Accepted the minutes of the Board Reorganization and Business
meeting held on December 4, 2006.
Approv ed the Treasurer’s
Report for November, 2006, as well as the Capital Reserve
Report, the Cafeteria Report, District Retirement Benefit
Account, and the high school and middle school activity
accounts.
Approved budgetary transfers for 2006/07.
Approved bill s payable
through December 15, 2006.
Approved 2007 Board meeting date changes as follows: Regular
Business meetings and Work/Study Sessions for the Committees –
July 16, 2007, will replace July 23, 2007, and August 6 and 20,
2007, will replace August 13 a nd
27, 2007.
Approved the second reading of the following policies which
are on display in all school buildings:

#103 – Nondiscrimination in School and Classroom Practices
#113 – Special Education
#115 – Vocational Technical Education
#122 – Extra-Curricular Activities
#123 – Interscholastic Athletics
#146 – Student Services

#233 – Suspension and Expulsion

Approved the lease of two digital copiers for FES and the CAB
at a cost of $238.02 per
month per copier and approved the lease of a digital duplicator
for FES at a cost of $50 per month.
Approved PLANCON K which is a compilation of the bond
refunding that was completed November 21, 2006, that refinanced
all of the remain ing 1997
bond issue.
Approved the exoneration of taxes for eight vacant
properties.
Approved Facility Use Requests as follows:
a. PENNDOT Motorcycle
Safety Training Program – April-October, 2007 - Classroom for
inside training sessions and south parking lot for driving range
training at a cost of $50 per session pending receipt of
insurance
b. 8th Grade Girls’ Basketball Winter League –
Monday’s beginning upon approval until March 15, 2007 – FMS
gymnasium – rental fee to be waived
c. Softball Clinic – January 12-13, 2007 – both FHS
gymnasiums from 3-9:30 p.m. – rental fee to be waived. And
further, the Board sanctions this activity in the Clay
Basketball League.
d. Girls’ Softball – Wednesday’s beginning January
10-May 16, 2007, from 7-9 p.m. – both FHS gymnasiums pending
receipt of insurance - rental fee to be waived
e. People to People Ambassador Group – January 7, 2007,
Fairview Middle School Auditorium at a cost of $120.00
Approved the list of personnel matters as well as the
substitute list s.
