The Fairview Board of School Directors held
its regular public meeting on
January 27, 2003, and took action on the
following matters:

Approved the minutes of the December 30, 2002,
special board meeting
·
The treasurer’s report for December, 2002, was
approved
·
Bills payable and payroll for January, 2003, were
approved
·
Appointed Farren Peightal as the student board
representative to the Fairview Parks & Recreation Authority
until December 31, 2004
·
Approved the school calendar for 2003/04
·
Adopted the new AP calculus prep/calculus course
·
Approved the Adopt-an-Artist field trips to
Falling Water and the Lion King for fall of 2003
·
Approved Suzanne Lawlor to complete her guidance
program internship for the second semester of 2002/03
·
Presented for first reading: Policy 227 – Drug & Alcohol Use, Policy 703.1 –
Integrated Pest Management, Policy 705.1 – MSDS – Control of
Hazardous Chemicals, and Policy 801 – Access to Public Records
·
Approved the budgetary transfer of $256,112 from
Capital Reserve Fund to the General Fund in order to make a debt
payment as budgeted for the 2/l/03 debt payment to the 2001
bondholders
·
Authorized the superintendent to sign the contract
with I.U. #5 for IDEA monies, $107,000 for school year 2002/03
·
Awarded the bids for the construction of a single,
unisex restroom at the Central Administration Building first
floor for total cost of $20,088 plus architect fees
·
Approved facility usage requests for the West
County Kiwanis Club to hold the 25th annual Fairview
Invitational Track Meet on April 5, 2003, and for Matt Lane to
use the Garwood soccer fields on June 25, 26, and 27, 2003
·
Awarded the fall athletic supplies bids
·
Acted on the personnel matters presented
·
