Fairview High School is a four-year comprehensive high school. The school, built in 1973, is located in Fairview, Pennsylvania, approximately ten (10) miles west of Erie, Pennsylvania, the fourth largest city in the Commonwealth. Fairview High School is fully accredited by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Office hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Student hours are 7:30 a.m. to 2:12 p.m. Library Media Center hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Faculty

The high school teaching staff is composed of forty-three (43) professionals with a total of 72% holding master's degrees, its equivalency or higher. The faculty's average length of service is eleven (11) years in the high school.

Education Leaders for the Future

Fairview High School has a reputation for preparing students for success following high school. Last year 89% of Fairview graduates enrolled in a variety of universities or technical schools. Fairview High School routinely has students recognized as commended by the College Board. SAT scores have been above the national norm for many years. The National Honor Society is active in the school with 70 members. The district has an exemplary staff and high quality programs.

Technology is utilized in all classrooms. We currently have four (4) stationary computer labs and several banks of desktop and laptop computers in many classrooms. Dedicated internet access is available throughout the school.

Student Volunteer Programs are highly successful. Many students perform community service as part of their classes; through National Honor Society, Friends of Rachel Club, Student Council, and/or Fairview Service Club.

Fourteen Advanced Placement (AP) courses and many honors courses are available allowing students the opportunity to challenge themselves and possibly earn college credits through national tests. Not all AP courses are offered every year and some AP courses are offered through distance learning.

Fairview High School offers a wide range of student activities including many athletic teams. The school has won state, district, and regional championships in several sports over the years. Students may participate in band and drama performances. Frequently foreign exchange students are a part of the student body.
