Adopt an Artist

The Adopt An Artist program at Fairview Middle School, in cooperation with Fairview Elementary School, is designed to supplement the fine arts program of the Fairview School District.  It is supported by a volunteer group of parents, teachers, administrators, and community members.

Adopt An Artist's mission is to provide an arts enrichment program which is independent and self-sustaining.  The goal of Adopt An Artist is to expose every student to the works and processes of people in the visual and performing arts.

What does Adopt an Artist do? 
Arranges presentations on master artists for all grade levels.  Organizes a field trip for each grade level to see the art/artist they have studied.  Promotes guest artists based on a difference theme each year.

We believe that education in the arts is fundamental to the analytical and creative development of the individual.  It fosters creativity, imagination, self discipline, team work, and self-esteem.  Furthermore, it enhances our ability to fully experience life, while deepening our understanding of culture and history.  The vital part of this endeavor is to enthusiastically share the joy and drama of the arts throughout the ages.
