Director of Student Support Services

Dr. Janet Wojtalik has worked for the Fairview School District as Director of Special Education and currently as the Director of Student Support Services for a total of eleven years. Prior to her employment with Fairview, she worked in the capacity of Director of the Sarah Reed Children’s Center Early Intervention Program.

She has a variety of experiences in addition to her nineteen years in administration. She has worked in the capacity of an Intermediate Unit Early Intervention Teacher for young children with special needs, as a middle/high school Special Education Teacher, and as a Speech Pathologist with St. Vincent’s Health Center. She continues to exercise her teaching skills as an adjunct professor at Mercyhurst College.

Dr. Wojtalik earned her doctoral degree in educational leadership from Duquesne University in February 2006. Her research in the area of women and leadership won her Clark Scholar designation in the 2006 David L. Clark National Graduate Research Seminar in San Francisco, California.

Dr.Wojtalik has presented her research in many settings over the past year. She has presented in San Antonio, Texas at the 2006 UCEA National Convention; in La Crosse, Wisconsin at the United Council’s 11th Annual Women in Leadership Conference; in Nashville, Tennessee at the 2005 UCEA National Convention, as well as, the 2005 PASA Woman’s Caucus Conference in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Wojtalik has two sons. Her oldest, Anthony, runs his own business in Madison, Wisconsin. Her youngest, Nicholas, is currently performing on Broadway.
