Fairview School District Facilities, Maintenance, and Grounds

Director of Facilities, Maintenance, and Grounds: David Muye (ext. 3116)

The Fairview School District’s maintenance and custodial staff have a goal to provide a quality atmosphere at all times. Using sustained, proactive measures, the district is constantly looking to improve our already high standard of cleanliness. Although the threat of super-viruses and staph infection concerns have heightened the awareness of all school districts, Fairview remains confident that our on-going quality improvement philosophy is the best approach in providing the cleanest possible facilities.
Some of the recent changes to our program include the following:
* New soap dispensers using a packaged gentle lotion soap
* New hand sanitizer dispensers installed in prescribed areas, including cafeteria, classrooms, library, etc.
* New micro-fiber mops for improved cleaning
* New quaternary disinfectant dispensed through a dilution center to ensure proper concentration
* Weekly disinfectant applied to locker room areas and restrooms (in addition to daily cleaning)
* Daily disinfectant applied to desks and other contact surfaces
* Improved, on-going staff training
* Consultation with a local epidemiologist
“We take great pride in keeping the buildings and grounds at the Fairview School District clean and safe for all of our children and adults. A thorough daily cleaning regimen and staff buy-in for the need of a clean environment are the keys to accomplishing our goals. The district understands the need to utilize high quality products applied by well-trained staff to produce effective results,” said David Muye, Director of Facilities and Grounds. Superintendent Larry Kessler added, “Our goal is to keep our students safe and secure at all times. We take that charge very seriously.”
