| Spanish Club is open to any FHS student taking Spanish or who has taken Spanish in the past. The club meets once a month and provides opportunities for the members to participate in activities related to the language and the culture. Major activities include making papel picado (cut paper) for Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), creating posters to recognize the various sports in their season, making piñatas for the Christmas fiesta, decorating valentines, decorating masks for Mardi Gras / Carnaval, decorating Easter cards for FHS faculty and celebrating 5 de Mayo with a fiesta. One fundraiser is held in the fall to subsidize these activities and to purchase realia, videos and music for class use. |
