Safe Driver Awards:
Congratulations go out to Fairview School Bus Drivers Denise Anselment (30 years – Bus #4) and Todd Trushel (25 years – Bus #14) for being recognized by the Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit Transportation Committee for their accident-free driving records! On behalf of the school board, employees, residents and the students whom you have safely transported over the years, we want to thank you for your dedicated service to the Fairview School District. We are proud to have you as employees and wish you many more miles of safe driving!
FES PTO to Vote on "Artist in Residence" Program:
The PTO with Arts Erie is recommeding artist Ed Grout for an "Artist in Residence" program at Fairview Elementary School. As an "Artist in Residence," Ed Grout would work directly with the students at Fairview Elmentary School to design art work that would be constructed with our students in two phases. Holiday Gifts Honoring Teachers and Staff:
Are you stressing over holiday gifts for those special people at school? The Fairview School Foundation has the perfect solution. No more trudging through the snow or worrying about duplicate gifts, why not honor those special people with a gift to the Fairview School Foundation. With just one donation, you and your child can honor as many teachers/staff as you wish. Each honoree will receive a notification letter of your gift. Property Tax Reduction for 2008/09:
The Fairview School District will receive property tax reduction funds from the state for the 2008/09 school year in the amount of $264,423. These funds will be used to reduce the property tax bill for all approved homesteads and farmsteads in Fairview Township. There are a total of 2,637 approved homesteads and farmsteads that will receive a reduction in property taxes of about $100. The adjustment on the tax bill will be shown as a reduction to the assessed value in the amount of $5,675. This adjustment amount times the anticipated millage of 17.68 (.01768) results in a tax reduction of $100.33. This link is the 2008 Homestead and Farmstead Exclusion Resolution that the school board will consider on May 28, 2008.
