Secretary’s Report:

*The minutes of the January 25 meeting were approved by motion.

Principal’s Report:

*Open House-Mr. Park is soliciting ideas for changes, perhaps by having a bigger event once a year.  Positive comments included that the Open House is beneficial, and that parents enjoy meeting the teachers.  Negative comments included parents not knowing about the Open House in a timely manner, and that many teachers were not there that night.  We were asked to contact Mr. Park for any other thoughts or suggestions.

*Discussed global connect calls.

*Thirty students are in math boot camp, in two groups of 15.  Purpose is to improve PSSA math scores.

*Art display boards-The company is picked out and there will be more info on this in the next couple of weeks.

*Tim Bailey from the class of 2000, said there is $1000.00 in the class PNC account, and he wants to give it back to the school.

*Scheduling-Mrs. George spoke with the 8th grade class.  She will meet with the 11th grade as a group, and then individually.  Students should get their draft schedules in the near future and their final schedules in May.

*Six years of graduate files are in file cabinets and administration is thinking about scanning and digitizing the files.  The past six years would be on discs.  The law requires that all files be kept for 100 years.

*Tutorial-Administration is working to improve tutorial time.  There is a need for a better system in order to know where students are during tutorial.

*A question was raised about the juniors contribution to the Prom.  Mr. Park will check and get back to us.

Treasurer’s Report:

*There was an opening balance of $11,905.36.  Total receipts were $31.99 with disbursements of $445.00, leaving a closing balance of $11,492.35.

*Treasurer’s report was approved by motion.

Committee Reports:

*Secretaries Luncheon-The lunch is scheduled for April 25 at Lakeshore Country Club.

*Senior Breakfast-The breakfast is scheduled for Wednesday, May 23, and underclassmen parents are needed to help.  Sue McCloy and Ellen Murphey have volunteered to chair the senior breakfast next year.

*Prom to Dawn-A meeting will take place after today’s PATS meeting.

Old Business:

*Career Day-Event is scheduled for March 9, and volunteer speakers are still needed in a few areas.  Volunteers for speaker lunch will be asked for via Sign-up Genius.

*Fundraising-Candles, Fairview Tiger flags, coupon books, and Casino night were all discussed as possible fundraisers.

*Beach Day-Motion made and approved to give Joan Martter $100.00 to purchase popsicles for Beach Day.

The next PATS meeting will be on Wednesday, March 28 at 9:00 a.m.
