As a part of the Fairview Middle School’s counseling program, guidance lessons are presented to students in grades 5-8 in conjunction with the academic curriculum.  This may be delivered through a variety of presenters, activities, video clips, or discussions.

The program, Project Wisdom, is used school wide as a tool for implementing character education lessons in the classroom. The lessons cover a multitude of different topics that include: bullying, gossiping, overcoming challenges, drug and alcohol abuse, respect of self and others, decision making, goal setting, study skills, diversity, self-responsibility, peer pressure, and helping others.

Fairview School District also has a comprehensive Career Education program for students in grades K-12.  Lessons are based on the Pennsylvania Academic Standards for Career Education and Work.
