The safety and security of the students at Fairview Elementary School are very important to us. We have a School Safety and Security Officer that travels around the district, ensuring the safety of the overall district. We also utilize a system to check the background of any person working with our students and have a camera system continuously monitoring the school. In doing these, and many other things, we hope you and your child will always feel safe during their time at Fairview Elementary.

To understand more about the items listed above, please read each section provided below.

Visitor Check-In System

The Raptor program was introduced to the Fairview School District at the start of the 2013-2014 school year. This system is designed to register and sign-in visitors to each building. Every visitor who comes to Fairview Elementary School will be required to present a valid photo ID. If you refuse to submit your identification, you will be denied entry into the building. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Since its inception, Raptor has identified and alerted officials across the country to more than 10,000 sex offenders entering schools and other organizations where children are present. The system has also been credited with the arrest of numerous absconded sex offenders that have crossed state lines. With this assurance, we feel that our students are protected within our building.

Security Camera System

Over the past year, cameras have been installed through Fairview Elementary School and are regulated on a timely basis. These cameras are purposeful for several reasons--the most important being that we can use it as a safety precaution. If you have any questions about the cameras at FES, please contact Dr. Ben Horn, principal.
