Educational Values
Students

Students are provided with learning experiences that promote post-secondary success. Students are taught literacy and S.T.E.M. skills that will allow them to think critically. Administration
Administrators value ethical behavior, integrity, respect, and perseverance in every person. Administrators trust staff to take ownership of their domain and empower staff to develop their craft. Administrators are committed to advancing equity and embracing diversity and inclusion. Administrators promote quality instruction, technology integration, and innovation to meet our students’ evolving needs. Administrators budget and allocate resources to incorporate the diverse interests of student and community groups. Administrators aggregate and analyze district, regional, state, and national data to identify trends, monitor progress, and determine future goals. Administrators analyze and interpret data to identify trends, monitor progress, and implement programs to meet individual student needs. Administrators consistently provide a variety of communication strategies to our students, staff, parents, and community. Administrators promote an equitable, nurturing, and safe environment to support a productive place for learning for students and staff.
Parents
Parents and guardians value all students, staff, administrators, and the community. Parents and guardians advocate to foster the unique needs and abilities of students to work collectively with the school district and share in the responsibility to educate, support, and empower all students. Parents and guardians provide support and constructive feedback in order to enhance the personal growth and learning opportunities for all students. Parent and guardian supported activities have a direct impact on creating a collaborative learning environment. Parent and guardian participation and volunteerism is encouraged at events to enrich and diversify district programs. Parents and guardians provide a safe and nurturing environment for all children and actively engage in their learning and growth
Community
The community includes early childhood providers that maintain a strong connection with the primary schools. The community emphasizes innovation and global awareness, all of which prepares students to be productive and contributing citizens through internships and mentoring. The community is committed to advancing and embracing equity for all students. The community encourages open dialogue as the key to building relationships and trust. The community works with the district to create and support a safe and nurturing environment to support students, staff, parents, and administrators.
Academic Standards
The Fairview School District recognizes the value of the Pennsylvania Academic Standards as a foundation to a great education. All of the curricula delivered to our students are aligned to these standards. We do not feel that additional standards are warranted as these represent a composite of a quality education. We intend to continue to use the PA Academic Standards as a framework of our curricula and program for the duration of this Strategic Plan.
