9th grade environmental science students measured the diameter of trees using DBH tape. Then they used a tangent height gauge and tape measure to find the height of the trees. Once the students had taken those measurements, they calculated the mass of the tree and the amount of carbon dioxide that it sequestered.

Triangles were the answer to the STEM Lab that students in Mrs. Jones' Geometry classes completed this week. Their task was to build a structure using 15 gummy bears and 20 toothpicks to hold a textbook for 3 seconds. Only 1 group was able to figure out that triangles are the strongest structure for building!

While some students might not like doing guided reading....however, leave it to Miss Glennon to make it fun for them! Students were practicing their guided reading using fun witchy fingers! Who wouldn't like doing mandatory school reading with a cool, green finger with a bright red fingernail? We love how our SEL teachers pull out all the creativity and use all the tools in their toolboxes to make learning fun for those who might not find it so fun!
