Chris Anderson and Adam Macrino from the Hagen History Center presented to the Erie Experience classes this week about immigration to Erie and the significance of churches to these communities. Artifacts they brought in included an almost 200 year old tabernacle and a 100 year old family bible.

Miss Miele’s AP English Literature & Composition students completed stations to analyze literary elements and their effects in “A Jury of Her Peers” as the students continue to prepare for the AP Exam.
Erie County Technical School Co-Op Student of the Month.
Mr. Brinling was a guest presenter in the Erie Experience classes this week. He focused on the transportation evolution in Fairview from waterways and canals to railroads and highways. The students took a tour of the highlighted points of interest on Friday.
Donnie Mastrostefano, Gabe Langdon, and Grace Borland use microscopes in CP Biology to study the cell cycle.
Wednesday, March 6th was National Inclusion Day and students in Mrs. Yatsko's classroom and members of the FHS Partners Club asked FHS students to pledge their support of Inclusion at Fairview during all 3 lunches. We made an inclusion chain---over 150 students signed!

Twelve Fairview High School juniors, who were nominated by their teachers, enjoyed a day on Mercyhurst University's campus for the Rotary Club's annual Ethics Symposium. Students had opportunities to engage in discussions and respond to scenarios that required them to make ethical judgements using the Rotary Club's 4-way test: 1) Is it the truth? 2) Is it fair to all concerned? 3) Does it build goodwill and better friendships? 4) Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Mrs. Fair’s Honors English 2 created body biography projects for characters in
Shakespeare’s comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Students used textual evidence and inferencing skills to determine their character’s virtues, vices, challenges, and other characteristics.
Employees from the Tom Ridge Environmental Center presented to the Erie Experience classes this week. The lecture included the evolution of Presque Isle from Native American era to today. The students enjoyed seeing fossils from pre-historic animals found there, hearing about the Natives and early Europeans that were in the area and how Presque Isle's shape has changed over time.
Students perform their interpretations of how volcanos become the islands that make up Oceania for World Cultures.
The robotics club had a long day yesterday competing at the State Championship. Both teams and their robots performed amazingly. Andrew Wachter, Moira Erhartic, and Beckham Barnhill's robot got ranked 6th overall during the day and lost in the quarter finals. Since mid December they have put over 500 man hours into the team and their robots.

Students in Mr. Blystone’s classes enjoyed playing Pickleball this week, we even had a couple special guest players.
Courtesy of the Fairview Foundation, Erie Experience classes received a tour of the Erie Maritime Museum. The students boarded the Niagara, learned about shipwrecks of Lake Erie, discovered what life was like for the sailors and the science behind how the flagships operated.
