What role should the United States play in world affairs? A spectacular debate took place as Ms. Nelson’s American Studies students faced each other across “no man’s land” while asserting unique points of view related to the US role in World War I. Engaging discourse, powerful rebuttals, and intriguing questions abounded as students expanded their critical thinking skills.
Officer Ras presented to Mrs. Nies's Law Course this week. Officer Ras spoke about local crime, personal safety and situational awareness to match their unit on types of crimes.

Fairview High School Freshman Mariya Hoja represented the state of Pennsylvania at the first annual National Civics Bee, held in Washington, D.C. at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Mariya finished in the top ten of all students competing. Congratulations Mariya on this tremendous accomplishment!
Partners Club had a Friendsgiving Event on November 14th with fun games of Trivia and Charades to get us ready for Thanksgiving. Mrs. Yatsko was excited at the turnout---39 attendees.

On Halloween, freshman environmental science students designed creative profiles for a variety of creepy organisms to show their knowledge of the creature’s interactions and habitat. There were a lot of great ones, and the classes voted for their favorites.

Amy Swartzfager, CPA from Cook Wealth, Scott Herzing, CPA from McGill, Power, Bell, and Associates, LLP and David Niemira, CPA from Fairview School District shared their career journey to the accounting profession. The accounting professionals shared what kind of career opportunities are available in the accounting field, and how accountants can help businesses and individuals meet financial goals.
