Every year, our 4th grade Math and Science Teacher, Mrs. Edwards put on a Math Olympiad Challenge. This year's winner was Brynn, who scored 17 out of 25 correct on the challenging word problems. She ranked in the top 20% nationwide of those who participated in this competition. Way to go, Brynn!

As a fun celebration for ending their Elementary School days, all the 4th graders went to Niagara Falls for a day. What starts off as a very early day, turns into learning about how all that water is used to provide power to a number of states, lunch at the conference center, and then a very wet ride on the Maid of the Mist. Fun was had by all, and there is no doubt that everyone slept well that night, including the adults!

I is for ICECREAM! Those sure look like yummy ice cream cones our Kindergarteners made for I day at school!

FES hosted a "Night of the Arts" where our students could showcase some of the artwork they had done throughout the year with Ms. Lybrook, and our 3rd and 4th-grade band/choir could perform their spring music with Ms. Shallenberger. It was a great evening of entertainment and visual masterpieces. We couldn't be prouder!

Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Mondy had a great time hosting their Mommy Spa just before Mother's Day. The students got the chance to pamper their moms/aunts/grandmas with facials, nail painting, and a new hairdo. What a great way to celebrate the wonderful women in our lives!

When in Rome....When in Art Class and making a shark picture, you wear shark sandals! Lylliann has the right idea!

FES has been so lucky to have had the ladies from the Fairview Garden Club come in for the last 26 years to show and help the 2nd graders plant a flower for their moms for Mother's Day. While they think that they are just planting a flower to take home to mom, they are actually learning about the flower, the soil, and what the flowers need in order to thrive. Thank you to the wonderful ladies from the Fairview Garden Club for your dedication to our 2nd-grade students.

For the last 26 days of school, the kindergarteners have a letter day. May 5th was Letter C (Cinco de Mayo) and May 8th was Letter D (Dino Day). Tacos, pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey, a pinata, digging for dinos, and wearing your very own dino hat...there could be no better way to spend a Friday or a Monday!

The High School Green Team posed a challenge to our Elementary School to see who could create the best robot out of recycled materials. We are so proud of the creativity and the use of recycled materials. James, a 1st grader in Ms. Bann's class won with his remake of R2-D2. Congrats James!

During the month of April, the kindergarten classes completed multiple author studies including, Mo Willems, Laura Numeroff, and Leo Lionni. They used their works to practice making predictions, inferring, cause and effect, making connections, and comparing and contrasting stories. The children also got to try using the varying illustration techniques to create characters from the stories.

Miss Clark's class had a chance to go to Donatos Pizza to see how pizzas are made. They got to make their very own and see them come out of the ovens on the rollers. As you can see, cheese is a big hit!

Is there a better day in gym class than parachute day? Most of our students have never had the chance to experience Parachute Day in gym class due to Covid. The sounds of laughter, fun, and joy that were coming from the gym last week were pure awesomeness!

Last week was Autism Acceptance Week. The students had a great week being able to dress up for the different spirit days. The students at FES raised $340.00 for Team Fairview.

First grade is learning about the rainforest biome, and each day they are focusing on a new animal. Today, they created their own toucans after learning new facts about animal adaptations.

Today is National Administrative Assistant's Day, and we could not be any luckier than to have the 2 best ones working at FES. However, Administrative Assistant does not accurately convey what their real titles are.
At FES their actual titles are "Administrative Assistant, bow fixer, shoelace tier, dad joke listener, booboo fixer, teardrop wiper, maid, party planner, trusted confidant, lost and found, snack suppliers, babysitters, keepers of most random supplies, gatekeepers, and other duties as assigned."
We could not run our school with the 2 of them and we think every day should be Administrative Assistants Day!

Is there anything better than ice cream? How about measuring ice cream in centimeters? That is exactly how our second-graders learned how to measure in centimeters with a ruler!

In honor of "Earth Day," the High School Green Team presented to each grade level. The team talked to the students about different ways they can help the Earth and how they can be "greener!"

SHHHHH! Don't frighten the 4th graders....they are reading!

Mrs. Gerber's STEM class has Launch Pad Days where they use creativity to make their own STEM projects using different items in the classroom.

Mr. Quiggle's students work on their soccer skills with different stations. They go around cones, dribble, and work on their passing skills by playing Tic Tac Toe. As you can see, he sure makes them tired by the end of class!
