One of the many events from Celebrate FMS on Friday, June 2, 2023 was the Spring Choral Concert. Well done!




This year's 7th grade class took a trip to Niagara Falls at the end of May. Just look at those smiling faces!










Mrs. Monroe's class took advantage of the beautiful weather last week and took in a hometown baseball game.


Eighth grade students used their tech skills to create a floor plan for their food truck. Students worked throughout the rotation to create a full food truck concept with a variety of business documents.






5th grade challenge 24 competition. It was a great experience with some fierce competition.




Three students from Fairview Middle School competed in the Challenge 24 Tournament on May 24, 2023 in Edinboro, PA- 8th graders Yatish Seelam and Ayush Bharath and 7th grader Aiden Bowersox challenged various students from other county schools to a friendly competition playing the math game Challenge 24. Great job today boys!




Eight students from Fairview Middle School recently competed at the PJAS State Meet. Each student designed and conducted professional experiments before presenting their projects at Penn State. Below are the students and the impressive results of their projects.

This year we were able to continue the long standing tradition of offering the 8th grade a class trip to Washington DC. 123 students attended and we were able to get a group photo outside of the White House. What a trip! Plenty of memories, lots of sights too see, and more walking than the students were prepared for!


The students in Miss Stewart’s ELA class got together with their pen pals from Miss Glennon's class at FES. After getting to know each other through letters over the last few months, the classes met up for some fun-filled “Minute to Win It” challenges! Students worked together with their pen pals to complete 6 challenges!






The 7th and 8th grade boys soccer team won the Penn State Behrend Turf Tournament defeating Girard in the final. The boys season wraps up next week with their last home game on Tuesday vs General McLane at 5:15pm.


A group of 7th grade girls attended Behrend’s Math Options Career Day. They built a bridge out of spaghetti to learn about engineering, heard speakers on being an actuary, and attended the STEM in Action Fair that highlighted the different STEM majors Behrend offers.



Mrs. Gruber’s students get to be teachers this week as they present their review lessons. This challenge has sparked a lot of creativity!








Seven Fairview students attended the PMEA District 2 IU5 Jr. District Band festival held at Titusville High School on April 14 & 15, 2023. During the festival students worked with guest conductor Ben Rochford, associate director of bands at Ithaca College. After several hours of rehearsal both Friday and Saturday, students presented a public concert on Saturday afternoon. Students representing Fairview included: (from L to R) Jailyn Bull (7), Caroline Strobel (7), Morgan Chase (8), Ulyana Hoja (9), Jabin Bull (9), Andrew WACHTER (9), and Jacob Owens (8).


In Mrs. Smith’s 6th grade ELA classroom, the students were reviewing grammar skills by playing a game called “Grammar Wars.” They compete against each other to find grammar mistakes. The students could earn prizes for their effort. All the students had fun, tried hard, and learned from each other in the process.





Parker Lord Engineers Jonathan Sacco and Casey Hedlund visited Mrs. Wethli's classroom to tell students about their jobs. Students learned about engineering and got to test out some of the different types of materials created at the facility.










This week the FMS students received a Thank You from Erie's Anna Shelter for their amazing fundraising efforts!



Students in Mrs. Mummert's 5th grade music class concluded their unit on Jazz Music last week by participating in group research on one of three Jazz Musicians; Louis Armstrong, George Gerswhin and Jon Batiste. After discovering important information about their artist, the students created a poster to share with the rest of the class and selected a song for the class to listen to.
