
At Monday's board meeting, members of the Fairview Middle School R.O.A.R Service Club gave a presentation on club activities and provided information the R.O.A.R (Respect, Ownership, Achievement, Resilience) Program at FMS.


During their Percents Unit, 7th graders in Miss Stankiewicz's class used the Cakery Cafe Menu to practice calculating tax, tip, and discounts.





Four students represented Fairview Middle school at the IU5 PMEA Jr District Choir on November 17 & 18 at North East High School. Pictured (L-R) are JaNiyah Bennett, Jenna Bull, Jailyn Bull and Kendall Biggie.


Students in Mr. Gebauer's 6th grade Social Studies class had the opportunity to virtually meet with PA State Senator Dan Laughlin on November 15th. They have been learning about the legislative branch of government and were very grateful for the opportunity. Topics and questions ranged from campaigns to filibusters to a typical day in the life of a Senator.

This year for Veterans Day the students and families of Fairview School District honored Veterans both known and unknown to them with a field of flags displayed outside of Fairview Middle School. Thank you to all the families who supported this recognition with flag purchases and donations. Your efforts raised a $600 donation for the Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' located here in Erie. Another thank you to the moms who gave their time and effort in support to this much deserved recognition. To those Veterans remembered in our field of flags, and to all Veterans far and wide, we thank you for your service and your sacrifice not only on Veterans Day, but every day.




Students are working on their 3-D Growth Mindset project display. After researching a famous individual with a Growth Mindset the students began to put together a 3-D design of their individual to use during their Growth Mindset Presentation on their individual next week.

Mrs. Staab’s 8th grade class is practicing CPR skills as part of their Human Service unit.




Some staff members celebrated along with some of the students yesterday for Halloween, proving that your never too old to have fun.











Today in Mrs. Rieger's 7th grade ELA class, students were introduced to descriptive writing through Halloween-related activities! First, students were tasked with using their senses, specifically their sense of smell and touch, to describe each of the items within the bags with their groups. Then, they worked on speaking descriptively by creating their own monsters and describing them to a partner to replicate.










Members of the Marching Band performed and took 2nd place at the LMBA Championships on Saturday at Erie's Vets Stadium. Students from FMS that participated include: Front (L to R)- Jenna Bull, Caroline Strobel, Rachel Liccardi, Claud Cook, and Molly McMullin; Back (L to R) Mariya Hoja, Jailyn Bull, Simon Biggs, Lennon Cook, Samuel Briody and Madison Brown. Another successful basketball exploratory for the '23-24 school year! The 7th grade winner was James Grucza. Alex Shibakoti claimed the prize in 6th grade, and the overall winner was a 5th grader, Henry Flaherty! Thanks to everyone who played and can't wait to see you again next time!



Ms. Stewart's 5th grade students analyzed characters in a novel study by creating a Wanted Poster, which focused on internal and external character traits.



During Mrs. Flaherty's 8th grade science classes, students practiced identifying cell organelles for their upcoming test on cell structure and function. This was done by creating plant and animal cells out of candy! Everyone worked really hard and did a great job!







Brian and Stacey Coburn, owners of The Happy Camper Snack Shack, came to FMS to tell students about their truck and how they got started as entrepreneurs. What a wealth of knowledge and experience they had to share!




We are proud to announce that Fairview High School and Fairview Middle School have been recognized as Apple Distinguished Schools. This Is the third time being recognized for Fairview High School and the first time for Fairview Middle School.

Students in Mrs. Timmers' 8th Grade Social Studies Class engage in a Federalist/Anti-Federalist Rap Battle


Members of the Fairview Marching Band, including Mariya Hoja (8) and Jenna Bull (7), had the opportunity to perform alongside the legendary IUP Marching Band on Friday, September 22nd.


The 7th Grade Career Exploration class worked on career pathway presentations this week. Students presented in groups to share entry level and professional jobs in each pathway.
