The Mission of the Fairview School Foundation is to enhance educational experiences throughout the Fairview School District.

We will accomplish our Mission by:

  • Providing funding for new and existing educational programs

  • Providing post-secondary scholarships to graduating seniors

  • Growing the financial base of the Fairview School Foundation for the future

Who We Are

In 1992, the Fairview School Foundation (FSF) was created as a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation with the primary goal of raising private funds to benefit our public schools. For the past 30 years, the FSF has been instrumental in providing funds that have further enriched the Fairview School District.

From the start, the FSF provided monies for special projects, scholarships to graduating seniors, and grants to teachers for programs not offered through the curriculum.  As more money was raised from private donations, the Foundation was able to start an endowment at the Erie Community Foundation. The initial contribution of $37,000 has quadrupled; creating sustainable support for our programs.

The scholarship program started small, with only $750 awarded.  Today, the Foundation administers seventeen named scholarships and twenty-one endowed scholarships totaling nearly $33,000 in awards given each year.  The teacher grant program also started small with only a few grants submitted.  This year, 13 grants were approved totaling over $20,000 in awards.

In 2002, the Foundation accepted donations towards the construction of a $300,000 tennis complex on Fairview’s campus and in less than one year, the Chris Batchelor Memorial Tennis Courts were completed.  The premier outdoor tennis facility is open to the entire community, free of charge.

In 2011, the Foundation, in cooperation with the Fairview Athletic Boosters Turf Committee, kicked off an ambitious fundraising effort to make turf a reality on the Fairview campus. The goal of $500,000 was realized through one-time donations and pledges over time. Keck Field at Jack Bestwick Stadium was dedicated on August 31, 2012.

The Foundation has partnered with several groups to raise money for projects including the construction of a playground at FES and a new concession stand at the athletic stadium, the addition of a timing system at the aquatic center, and the building of a Fairview Lacrosse Club program.
