Did you know that interacting with a therapy dog can reduce blood pressure, promote physical healing, and reduce anxiety and depression? Maggie and Evie take turns coming to school and hanging out in the AHN Chill Room to share all their love for our FHS students! Both girls celebrated BIRTHDAYS this week! Check out this link for Therapy Dogs United to learn more about how dogs can support people! https://www.therapydogsunited.org/about/

This year, with the help of the Fairview School Foundation, students at FMS had the opportunity to join MathCounts! MathCounts is a national middle school mathematics competition that builds problem-solving skills and fosters achievement through four levels of fun, in-person “bee” style contests. This year's competition took place at Gannon University for students who qualified in 6th-8th grade this past weekend. Great job to Grace Liu (7th), Lennon Cook (8th), Aaditya Girish (7th), James Lin (8th), Chloe Smith (8th), Noah Estrich (7th), Shri Veeranki (7th), and Shoaib Essa (8th) who represented FMS at the competition! Fairview took home 3rd place for the team round, consisting of Grace Liu, Lennon Cook, Aaditya Girish, and James Lin. Lennon Cook took 4th place and Grace Liu took 5th place individually, qualifying them for the State Competition in Harrisburg next month! We also held a school competition for 5th grade students, and are happy to congratulate our winners Jeffrey Lin, Cadan Robertson, Giovanni Imbrogno, Tanishq Sharma, and Nicholas Bloom! We are so proud of all our mathletes that took an interest in this program!

Nine Honors Spanish students spent the day volunteering at the Erie City Special Olympics at Peek n Peak Resort in Clymer, NY. They served as buddies, timekeepers, and art assistants to ninety athletes with disabilities in our Erie area. To see how kind, accepting, and encouraging our students are with their peers showcases the true result of a Fairview Schools education.
